Title : What is the 8051 Microcontroller???

CHAPTER 2 : LITERATURE REVIEW(2)

CONTENT:

:---- Muhammad Ali Mazidi said :

  • In 1981, Intel Corporation introduced an 8-bit microcontroller called the 8051.
  • This microcontroller had 128 bytes of RAM, 4K bytes of on-chip ROM, two timers, one serial port, and four ports (each 8-bits wide) all on a single chip. At the time it was also referred to as a “system on chip”.
  •  The 8051 is an 8-bit processor, meaning that the CPU can work only 8-bits of data at a time. Data larger than 8 bits has to be broken into 8-bit pieces to be processed by the CPU. The 8051 has a total of four I/O ports, each 8 bits wide.
  • The 8051 became widely popular after Intel allowed other manufacturers to make and market any flavors of the 8051 they please with the condition that they remain code-compatible with the 8051. This has led to many versions of the 8051 with different speeds and amounts of on-chip ROM marketed by more than half a dozen manufactures.
  • The 8051 is the original member of the 8051 family. Intel refers to it as MCS-51. There are two other members in the 8051 microcontroller. They are the 8052 and 8031.

RESEARCH - how the GSM works!

CHAPTER 2 : LITERATURE REVIEW(1)

CONTENT:

GSM is a TDMA based wireless network technology developed in Europe that is used throughout most of the world. GSM phones make use of a SIM card to identify the user's account. The use of the SIM card allows GSM network users to quickly move their phone number from one GSM phone to another by simply moving the SIM card. Currently GSM networks operate on the the 850MHz, 900MHz, 1800MHz, and 1900MHz frequency bands. Devices that support all four bands are called quad-band, with those that support 3 or 2 bands called tri-band and dual-band, respectively. In the United States, Cingular operates on the 850 and 1900MHz bands, while T-Mobile operates only on the 1900MHz band.

Block Diagram !!

CHAPTER 3: METHODOLOGY(1)

CONTENT:
EXPLANATION:
  • In implementing the Bus Speeding Warning System or called ‘Buss Warp”, block diagram of the project needs to be design first. The block diagram shows that the overall system of Buss Warp whereby the system will operate when the rotational disk at the crank shaft rotate and it due to odocable will rotate simultaneously.
  • In this application, the real metal disk has been change to prospect sheet disk but it look exec like to the real one. This prospect sheet disk mounted with Odocable, where it rotational was powered by 12VDC motor. There is also an infrared LED and phototransistor placed, to give an input pulse to the Transducer circuit. The circuit will act as a comparator, where it will give an input to the Digital Speedometer circuit. Then Digital Speedometer circuit displayed the speed with proportional to the frequency via 7-Segment display, where it uses to view current speed to passengers.
  • From the rotational of this prospect sheet disk, it also will make the odocable rotate as mention before, and then simultaneously the speedometer needle increase with proportional to the speed. Then data from speedometer will send to 8051 microcontroller unit. This microcontroller use IC from ATMEL AT 89S8252 where it has two external interrupt. Both external interrupt are INT 0 and INT 1 and located at pin 12 and 13 respectively. The AT 89S8252 is pre-loaded with BASCOM program where it have been set for INT 0 with speed limit in between 90KM/hours to 110KM/hours. Meanwhile for INT 1 the speed limit is in between 115KM/hours to 120KM/hours.
  • Furthermore, these two different interrupts will give input to four different outputs from 8051 microcontroller. For example, if bus is drove in speed 90 to 110KM/hours the yellow LED will light up. At the same time speed appear at the 7-Segment Display.
  •  This will inform passengers that it is in warning condition. Then if speed exceeds then 110KM/hours, which is 115KM/hours to 120KM/hours, the Red LED will blinking, buzzer will trigger and the 7-Segment Display will show that particular speed simultaneously.  At this stage the 8051 will send data through MAX 232 as a data converter through RS 232 cable to GSM transmission (Tx) module. This data is send to the data base for example Lembaga Lebuh Raya Malaysia (LLM), via SMS about the speed exceed of that particular bus. The detail of bus such as bus registration number, color, and type bus represent which company will display at the data base monitor.

OBJECTIVE:
1.) To explain in detail the function of my project by sketch it in block diagram
2.) To make it clear and easy to understand (one by one)
3.) To show that my project have sequences from the situation till solution

The Main Objectives of This Project!

CHAPTER 1 : INTRODUCTION

CONTENT:
  • To gain knowledge on mechanical part that actually involved in bus engine to be interrelated with speedometer operation.
  • To acquire hands-on experience with mechanical rotational of speed cable and speedometer.
  •  To design a program for 8051 microcontroller for the cognition with the unit of PIC controller.
  •  To develop knowledge and experience relevant to the design and test of BASCOM software to be cognition with 8051 microcontroller.
  •  To construct circuits that will be used as interfacing with the microcontroller and passengers.
  • To study and acquire and full understanding of GSM Transmission module function, to be interrelated and interface with 8051 microcontroller.
  • The most important beneficial are that competitive between others,  that can lead to excitement in term of knowledge, commitment, analytical thinking, critical thinking whereby all of these can be a credit to student in the real working environment soon.

OBJECTIVE:

1.) To make sure this project have the own target to solve the current problems
2.) To know how to find and learn something that we do not know by doing more research
